Few European locations need less Halloween decoration than Bran Castle. On Halloween night, the Transylvanian landmark is offering several experiences, including the Full Moon package, which combines a special evening tour of the castle with dinner at the Tea House Restaurant in the Royal Park and entry to the Halloween party afterwards.
Guests can choose between dinner before or after their castle tour. The dining experience is being created by Vasi Bejenaru, Executive Chef at Kronwell Brașov and winner of Bocuse d’Or Romania 2025. At Trendelburg Castle, Halloween dinner comes with an executioner. The historic castle hotel describes its event as the Hangman’s Banquet, or the “Last Supper”. As night falls, the castle’s executioner Heinrich opens the entrance to the old torture cellar, where stories from the castle’s past become part of the evening.
The experience includes a three-course dinner and a witches’ drink, turning the meal into a theatrical night inside the castle. The setting adds to the atmosphere: Trendelburg is a medieval hilltop castle in northern Hesse, now operating as a hotel and restaurant, with a history and local legends that provide a fitting backdrop for a Halloween banquet.

At Howth Castle, Halloween is approached through its older Irish identity: Samhain, the traditional festival marking the beginning of winter. The castle’s Feast of Samhain Supper Club takes place by candlelight in its historic setting, combining a seasonal dinner with an interactive murder mystery in which every guest becomes part of the story.
On arrival, guests receive a secret character, complete with a personal history, motives and an alibi. Dinner proceeds until someone at the table is “murdered”, leaving the remaining guests to question one another, examine clues and identify the culprit before dessert. Rather than watching actors perform, diners themselves drive the investigation.
The menu draws on autumnal ingredients and Irish traditions, with dishes including oysters with pickle granita, colcannon gnocchi with sage and pancetta butter, and pumpkin and pecan sticky toffee pudding. The supper forms part of Howth Castle’s wider Samhain programme, which also includes tours, storytelling, foraging and seasonal cookery experiences.

Halloween takes a rather different form among the vineyards of Tuscany. The menu includes local cheeses, cured meats and bruschetta, followed by pumpkin risotto, Florentine crespelle and roast porchetta with potatoes and pumpkin flan. Wines range from Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti to Super Tuscan reserves. Live music accompanies the dinner, followed by a DJ set, while Halloween costumes are encouraged but not required.

After making their way through the château, guests gather in the orangery for a three-course dinner. The evening includes an aperitif, wine and coffee, with a specially themed menu adding to the atmosphere.
